Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is often used to prototype new components and products before larger scale production. FDM allows for highly complex geometries and a variety of material options. Sometimes used for small-scale production but more often used to test the fit and aesthetics of a product intended for injection molding or other larger scale production process.
